It’s not just the pounds that count! |
|
Friday, March 1, 2024 This week’s spotlight: An inspiring journey with our Simen. A 37-year-old truck driver who decided to take his health and well-being seriesuste. Simen is a long-time truck driver and works out 2-3 times a week at the Fit Garage in Warns. After just a few weeks of simply adjusting the diet here and there, Simen can proudly report that he has lost 3 pounds! But that’s not the only remarkable result… His visceral fat dropped by one point, from 11pnt. to 10pnt. A fantastic improvement! What exactly is visceral fat? Visceral fat is the fat that surrounds the internal organs in the abdominal cavity. Unlike subcutaneous fat that is under the skin and visible, visceral fat is hidden. This can cause serious health problems. Increased levels of visceral fat are associated with a higher risk of various conditions, including heart disease, type 2 diabetes and other metabolic problems. Simen’s impressive result is not only a number on the scale, but it also represents a significant reduction in potentially harmful fat that threatens his health. The punchline to this success story is the decrease in his metabolic age from 47 to 43! We are on track to reach the age of 37. A result to be proud of! But what exactly is this “metabolic age”? Simply put, it is a measure of how efficiently your metabolism works compared to your actual age. A lower metabolic age indicates top a healthier, more efficient metabolism. This means that this success story is not only about weight loss, but also about improving overall health. The strength, of course, also lies in the motivation of Simen himself. As a truck driver, he faces daily temptations on the road, and resisting unhealthy/processed foods is an art in itself. His motivation comes from a desire to lose weight and feel fitter. An additional source of inspiration for him? His daughter! Deliberately living healthier is not only his personal journey, but also a message for the next generation. We are super proud of Simen and hopefully with his success we will encourage more people to take the step towards a fit and healthy life. |
